A guide to tackling student debt
A guide published on the Daily Mail`s website offers the 300,000 young people who graduated from university this summer some advice on how to deal with their student debt.
First of all, graduates are advised to work out how much debt they owe. The article highlights how important it is that graduates get the `whole truth` about their debts.
University leavers are then advised to adopt the right approach to tackling their debts - such as finding the `right` graduate account, not forgetting about their student loans and creating a realistic budget to help them repay as much of their debt as they can each month.
A spokesperson for the IVA Advisory Centre commented: "With students now expected to leave university with debts of up to £25,000, guides like this can be very helpful.
"We would advise anyone - graduate or not - who is worried about/struggling with their debts to seek professional debt advice without delay. The sooner someone seeks advice, the sooner a solution can be found."
