45 companies going bust every day
According to figures from the Insolvency Service, 45 companies in England and Wales are going bankrupt every day, the Telegraph reports.
More than 4,000 companies went bust in the second quarter of 2010. And although this was an increase of 0.5% on the previous quarter, it was actually almost a fifth lower than the same time last year.
IVAs reach new high in Northern Ireland
The number of people entering an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) in Northern Ireland has reached a new high, the latest figures from the Insolvency Service have confirmed.
In the second quarter of 2010, a total of 273 people in Northern Ireland entered an IVA to tackle their debt problems.

The number of people entering an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) reached a record high in the second quarter of the year, statistics from the Insolvency Service have just revealed.
Released this morning, the figures show that a record 13,466 people in England and Wales entered an IVA between April and June this year.
